This Red Velvet Whoopie Pie recipe is perfect for Christmas or Valentine's Day.
Sandwich two mounds of cake with a creamy filling for a little taste of heaven. The gorgeous deep red of the cake seems to stand out even more when teamed with the whiteness of a cream cheese filling. Red velvet whoopie pies are a very impressive dessert to serve to friends and family.
For an even more romantic gesture, make heart-shaped whoopie pies. Whoopie pie tins are now available in a variety of shapes so you can tailor your pies to any events. Why not make some star-shaped cakes for Christmas?!!
You really need to use the pillar-box red food coloring. Some red food colorings are more pink than red and it changes the whole look of the whoopie pies.
