Popcorn Cupcakes

My 6 year old son Alex wanted a movie party and he only wanted popcorn cupcakes as the dessert. I used golden cupcakes frosted them white and used mini marshmallows that I had cut slashes in the top to look like popcorn. I used yellow sanding sugar sprinkled on top to look like butter. The bottom was red stripe craft paper around the base with a sticker. Tons of raves from the moms and the kids.

Thanks so much for sending in your photo and your instructions for making popcorn cupcakes. They would be great for a movie theme, or circus theme party.

I have seen small popcorn tubs available in the supermarket but it would also be easy to make your own container. This could even become a party activity if you supplied all the ingredients and let the kids go crazy and assemble and decorate their own popcorn cupcakes.

Being assembled in the sturdy popcorn tubs also means that they become a fantastic party favor as they are easy to transport home.
