Creamy Chocolate Frosting

2oz (60g) cooking chocolate

1/2 cup milk
1-1/2 cups confectioners (icing) sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla extract

Put chocolate and milk into a small saucepan and stir over low heat until chocolate has melted.

Mix confectioners sugar with beaten egg yolk and add to the milk mixture, stirring continuously.

Cook on low heat for 10 minutes, while stirring continuously.

Stir in butter and vanilla.

Leave to cool until room temperature. Either whisk by hand or beat with an electric mixer until thick enough to spread.

Thanks so much for sending in your recipe for creamy chocolate frosting.

I don't usually add egg yolks to my frosting so I am keen to try this recipe. Looks like I will be making chocolate cupcakes this weekend.
