Christmas cupcake recipes

I want to make fruit cupcakes for Christmas. I know I can bake the cupcakes now (November), but is it too early to decorate them as well? I want to use a fondant icing. Thanks!!

If you are using fondant it is definitely not too early. I was at a fair last week and lots of people were already selling their decorated christmas cakes and christmas cupcakes. They are also already in lots of stores.

I always think the main thing is to make sure the decorated cake/cupcakes are kept in airtight containers until you are ready to serve.

This is why I love fuit cupcakes as out of all the Christmas cupcake recipes, they are about the only one that can be made well in advance. The flavor only gets better with age.
